Okay - a fantasy episode of Andy Griffith.
(Swirly harp music and trippy spirals
taking us back to 1969) *****.......

The Dead's bus is passing through Mayberry on the way
to a gig in Asheville at the University (could've happened).
Barney arrests them for having a brake light out on the bus
and takes them to jail.

After Andy finds out that Jerry plays bluegrass, he jams with them in the jail. They agree to play a free acoustic concert in Mayberry to raise money for the school. The whole town turns out to dance in the street. Pigpen gets Aunt Bee to play tambourine and sing.
Meanwhile, Jerry slips some acid into Barney's coffee.

The band gets back on the bus and waving out of the windows
heads down the road. Barney and Thelma become hippies, drop
out and move to California to join a commune.

Somewhere in a parallel universe.......

cheers,
Dr. Flashback :-)

After Pigpen passes, Otis takes his place in the band.
